For Journey To The Center Of The Earth, a Hallmark production shot in Melbourne, Australia and directed by George Miller we were asked to produce seven highly detailed creature suits. The hero suit incorporating an animatronic head, micro servos operating the brows and snarl. Three re-active heads were built for the mid-ground creatures, their snarl and brow movement was linked to their jaw (Chewbacca style). The three background heads just had jaw movement. The lower sections of the actors legs were removed digitally in post production successfully giving the creature a bazaar dog leg appearance.
